"中国共産党の強権主義的な政治アプローチについて考えるとき、自由や法の支配、基本的人権について学術的な視点で語られることが一般的ですが、「恐怖心による服従」という人民の精神面から展開される本編の切り口はとても斬新に感じました。
この映画について事前に軽く聞いていた概要から、中国史に関する細々した内容になるのではないかと考えていましたが、現代を舞台にしたストーリーで、主役の監督が習近平と対話する形式で話が展開されていくのがシンプルで分かりやすかったです。対話シーンでは、弾圧を受ける人民が抱く恐怖心が監督に投影されることで、「恐怖」とは何かが抽象的な概念として終わらず、観る側も共感できる感情として表現されていたのが良かったです！
本編で説明される習近平の生い立ちや権力闘争、その周辺の情勢についての概要もとても分かりやすく、中国政治史に関して予備知識がない人にとっても抵抗なく観ることができると思うので、誰にでもオススメしやすいと思います。"
